Another use for the blend is as a digestive aid.
Benefits of the Individual Herbs:
Wormwood (Artemisia) –
A large and diverse genus of plants with about 180 species belonging to the daisy family (Asteraceae). It comprises hardy herbs and sub-shrubs known for their volatile oils. These grow in the temperate climate regions of the Northern Hemisphere, usually in dry or semi-dry habitats.
Wormwood was used by Native Americans to relieve digestive problems and expel intestinal worms from the body. In modern herbal medicine, it is used to improve digestion and the absorption of nutrients by stimulating the production of stomach acid and bile. When applied directly to the skin in a poultice, Wormwood reduces swelling and inflammation associated with bruises, insect bites, and sprains.*
Quassia –
Quassia has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can be used topically to treat measles, or orally or rectally to treat intestinal parasites, diarrhea, and fever. The anti-inflammatory properties are helpful in treating joint pain and swelling.*
Male Fern –
Male fern has a longtime reputation as a remedy for tapeworms. Its oleresin compound stuns and paralyzes tapeworms, roundworms, and hookworms. Male fern is also good for treating sores, boils, swollen glands, and viral infection. *
All Dr. Clark products undergo rigorous purity testing protocols.
