Canon wants to help consumers decrease their environmental burdens through its Generation Green program. The company believes we should all reduce, reuse and refurbish. This project includes Canon scanners, Pixma inkjet printers, the ImageClass line of products, ImageFormula scanners, Image Runners, and a lot more.
Generation Green is designed to give business partners and consumers a way to learn more about the green products and solutions the company has to offer. It is the company’s goal to make products that are caring to the global environment.
Several Canon products are designed to make the planet greener. Below are some of the products from the Generation Green initiative:
This is a wireless inkjet photo printer that can deliver high quality prints without wasting resources. It includes the auto duplex printing feature that can save up to 50 percent off your paper supply. This feature automatically prints on both sides of a page without requiring that one turn it over manually. It also contains individual ink tanks, which decreases the quantity of wasted ink. Users can replace individual color tanks instead of replacing entire color cartridges.
This is less expensive than the model above but that doesn’t mean it’s less capable. Like the PIXMA MG6120, this all-in-on printer has an auto duplex printing feature. It also has a quick start which allows the user to start the printer up in a few seconds – which makes it easier and more convenient to turn the printer off more often.
This is a high speed scanner with four EZ Buttons for copy, scan, email, and create PDF files. It has low power consumption that requires only one USB cable for data and power. It has the Energy Star® seal, which means it is at least 25 percent more efficient than the conventional models. Thus it helps decrease greenhouse gas emissions and saves the user money and energy.
This is a lightweight and ultraportable personal document scanner. It is easy to use and can be taken wherever you need it. It is another Generation Green product that meets the Energy Star® program standard for energy efficiency. It also complies with WEEE and RoHS guidelines for reduction of waste products and hazardous substances. It uses 5 watts or less in standby mode, which means it consumes minimal energy even when left on. Its LED light source also makes its warm-up time shorter and consumes less energy.
