    hi, dead zones currently make up less than 2 percent of the world’s ocean volume & dead zones could persist for millennial, which can lead to a considerable purge and restructuring of ocean life. thanks for posting this interesting article.

    The source of this problem looks to be us humans, so the problem can be dealt with. According to wikipedia, The Black Sea dead zone has been reversed with nitrogen decreasing by 37 percent from 1985 to 2000.
