Although you mention driving slower and quick starts and stops. Driving in high gear helps a lot. you dont want to change up a gear too soon as this puts stress on the car, particuarly the “big end” in the engine. but you would be surprised how quickly you can be in top gear. I think 55 mph is the ideal speed to be cruising at to be fuel efficient.

hypermiling technique doe work if you know how to use it.I’ve increased my average MPG on my old Toyota corolla from about 25 miles per gallon to about 32 miles per gallon.

I saw the youtube vid of the guy that got 100 mpg, I wish I could get that. Hypermiling has got me quite a few more MPGs though, I think its the best new fad in a long time.

Hi there. I picked up a comment on my blog and followed you back here.

I am definitely in agreement with you. Hypermiling is more common sense than anything. I like your analogy too, drinking water when done improperly can be pretty dangerous, as is crossing the street - but you don’t see those activities being hyped up on CBN hehe.
